Math:
This week in
math, the students will continue learning about polygons, quadrilaterals and
will explore perimeter as an attribute of plane figures and solve
problems. They will measure side lengths
in whole number units to determine the perimeter of polygons. The students will
determine the perimeter of regular polygons and rectangles when whole number
measurements are missing. They will use all four operations to solve problems
involving perimeter and missing measurements.
Example of solving perimeter problems with known measurements:
Example of solving perimeter problems with known measurements:
Continue
practicing multiplication facts 2-10.
Use vertical
number line to round numbers to nearest 10’s and 100’s.
Practice
partitioning objects at home and finding equivalent (equal) fractions.
Solve word
problems using the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division).
Add and
subtract 3 and 4 digit numbers.

Science:
This week in
science, the students will compare and contrast plant structures and their
roles in food production, support, water, and nutrient transport, and
reproduction.
